Compartiendo Miradas: la Ciudad y los Selfies

La Facultad de BBAA organiza BAG2nd, Festival Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo en colaboración con el Vicerrectorado de Internacionalización de la UGR. BAG2nd promueve y difunde investigaciones artísticas realizadas por estudiantes y profesorado vinculado a nuestra Facultad bajo distintos programas de movilidad nacional e internacional desarrollados durante el curso 2018-19.
En esta segunda edición, la sala principal de exposiciones de nuestra Facultad acoge la exposición “Compartiendo Miradas: la Ciudad y los Selfies”. La muestra podrá visitarse desde el 30 de mayo al 14 de junio de 2019 en horario 10-14h y 17-20h.
“Compartiendo Miradas: La ciudad y los Selfies” es un proyecto de carácter internacional, desarrollado entre alumnado y profesorado de la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Granada (España) y del Instituto Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes (IENBA) de la Universidad de la República (Uruguay). Plantea experiencias al alumnado de ambas universidades para indagar en el papel que el fenómeno artístico y las imágenes fotográficas ocupan en nuestra manera de comprendernos a nosotros mismos y de comprender la ciudad. Lo hace proponiendo un doble diálogo de ida y vuelta:
De un lado, el alumnado de 6º Grado de Fotografía del IENBA (Universidad de la República) explora su identidad investigando el concepto de selfie y realizando algunos que comparten con alumnado de Principios Básicos de la Pintura de la Universidad de Granada, en el curso 2018-19. Estas fotografías funcionan como una carta de presentación, animando al alumnado de Granada a responderles mediante un retrato o autorretrato que les representa. De otro lado, el alumnado de 1er curso de Principios Básicos de la Pintura de la Universidad de Granada explora su identidad realizando fotografías de espacios de la ciudad que les describen. Estas fotografías, con fuerte carga biográfica, actúan como relatos que son compartidos con el alumnado de Montevideo, en proceso de responder a las mismas realizando fotografías de zonas de su ciudad con las que se sienten identificados.
El proyecto “Compartiendo Miradas: la Ciudad y los Selfies” es un diálogo sin palabras, en el que asignaturas aparentemente lejanas -en contenidos y distancia- superan sus propios objetivos para ir más allá, ofreciendo al alumnado de diferentes contextos culturales la oportunidad de conocerse y re-conocerse a través de la creación artística. Como resultado se ofrece esta muestra que aúna tanto proyecciones de las fotografías realizadas por estudiantes de ambos países como obras pictóricas que el alumnado de Principios Básicos de la Pintura de Granada ha realizado, a la luz de esas fotografías. Una segunda exposición será celebrada en la sala de exposiciones del IENBA en Montevideo, en el mes de noviembre, en la que de nuevo selfies e imágenes de ambas ciudades dialogarán hablando de sus autores.
The Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Granada organizes BAG2nd, the International Festival of Contemporary Art in collaboration with the Vice-rectorate for Internationalization of the UGR. BAG2nd promotes and disseminates the artistic research carried out by the students and the teachers linked to our Faculty under different national and international mobility programs developed during the 2018-19 academic year.
In this second edition, the main exhibition hall of our Faculty hosts the exhibition “Compartiendo Miradas: la Ciudad y los Selfies” (“Sharing Looks: The City and the Selfies”). which can be visited from May 30th to June 14th, 2019 from 10 to 14h and 17 to 20h.
“Compartiendo Miradas: La ciudad y los Selfies” is an international project, developed among the students and the teachers of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Granada (Spain) and the National School Institute of Fine Arts (IENBA) of the University of the Republic (Uruguay). It presents experiences to the students of both universities to investigate the role that the artistic phenomenon and the photographic images occupy in our way of understanding ourselves and understanding the city. It does so by proposing a double round-trip dialogue:
On the one hand, the students of the 6th Degree of Photography of the IENBA (University of the Republic) explore their identity by investigating the concept of selfie and doing some which they share with the students of the Basic Principles of Painting of the University of Granada, in the academic year 2018-2019. These photographs work as a letter of introduction, encouraging the students of Granada to respond to them through a portrait or self-portrait that represents them. On the other hand, the students of 1st course of Basic Principles of Painting of the University of Granada explore their identity by taking photographs of spaces in the city that describe them. These photographs, with strong biographical content, act as stories that are shared with the students of Montevideo, in the process of responding to them by taking photographs of areas of their city with which they feel identified.
The project “Sharing Looks: The City and the Selfies” is a dialogue without words, in which seemingly distant subjects -in content and distance- surpass their own objectives to go further, offering students from different cultural contexts the opportunity to get to know and re-know each other through the artistic creation.
As a result, this exhibition is offered, which combines both projections of the photographs taken by the students from both countries and the pictorial works that the students of the Basic Principles of the Painting of Granada have made, in the light of those photographs. A second exhibition will be held in the IENBA exhibition hall in Montevideo, in the month of November, in which again selfies and images of both cities will talk about their authors.
